Introduction

Bubble Shooter is the matching puzzle that feels like an arcade game: a ceiling full of coloured bubbles, a launcher at the bottom, and one simple goal — fire bubbles into the cluster to match three or more of the same colour and make them pop. Every pop drops the cluster closer to the line at the bottom, and you win by clearing the whole ceiling before it reaches you. It is easy to pick up, endlessly replayable, and runs free in your browser with no download and no account.

About Bubble Shooter

The bubble-shooting format became a worldwide casual favourite in the late 1990s and has never gone away. Its genius is the one-shot-one-result loop: you aim, you fire, and the cluster reacts immediately. Every shot is a small decision about angle and colour, and the best shots pop several bubbles at once and drop whole chains.

The tension comes from the ceiling dropping toward you. The longer a game lasts, the lower the cluster hangs, and the fewer safe shots you have. Skilled players do not just match colours — they plan where the popped bubbles will drop, and they use the walls to bank shots around the cluster for angles the launcher cannot reach directly.

This version is based on an open-source HTML5 bubble shooter by rembound, released under the MIT licence. It runs entirely in your browser with mouse aiming on desktop and touch controls on mobile, and offers the same satisfying pop-and-drop loop as the classic game. No download, no sign-up, no waiting.

How to Play Bubble Shooter

  1. Aim your shot.

Move the launcher to choose an angle, using the mouse on desktop or your finger on a touchscreen. A guide line shows where the bubble is heading.

  2. Fire a bubble.

Click or tap to launch the current bubble into the cluster. The bubble travels until it hits another bubble or the ceiling and locks into place.

  3. Match three or more.

When three or more bubbles of the same colour touch, they pop and disappear. Bubbles left hanging with no support also fall away and add to your score.

  4. Clear the ceiling.

Keep matching and popping until the entire cluster is gone to win the round. If the cluster reaches the line at the bottom, the game is over.

  5. Bank shots off the walls.

The side walls bounce the bubble, letting you reach bubbles that are tucked behind others. Angled bank shots are the key to clearing stubborn clusters.

Bubble Shooter Tips & Strategies

  • Aim for the bottom of the cluster

Hitting the underside of the cluster pops more bubbles than firing into the middle, because the chain reaction drops and breaks a larger area. Shoot low whenever you can.

  • Match the wall, not just the cluster

A bubble fired at a wall bounces at a clean angle. Use bank shots to reach bubbles tucked behind the cluster that a straight shot cannot touch.

  • Clear one colour at a time

Working through the colours methodically keeps the cluster tidy and predictable. Scattering shots across every colour leaves a messy ceiling with no easy matches.

  • Watch the next bubble

The launcher shows the current bubble and often the one after it. Plan two shots ahead: if the next bubble is a colour you need high in the cluster, save the current shot for somewhere useful.

  • Let hanging bubbles drop

When you pop a match that leaves a group of bubbles with no support, the whole group falls and scores bonus points. Setting up a big drop is worth far more than a single small match.

  • Do not rush as the ceiling drops

When the cluster hangs low, every shot matters. Slow down, find the safest match that removes the most bubbles, and resist firing at the first angle you see.

Bubble Shooter — Frequently Asked Questions

Is Bubble Shooter free to play?

Yes, completely. The game is open source under the MIT licence and free to play here with no payment, no trial and no premium version.

How do I aim and shoot?

Move the launcher with your mouse or finger to set the angle, then click or tap to fire the current bubble. A guide line shows the path the bubble will take.

How do bubbles pop?

Three or more bubbles of the same colour that touch each other pop and disappear. Any bubbles left without support then fall away and add to your score.

What happens if the cluster reaches the bottom?

If the hanging cluster touches the line at the bottom of the board, the game is over. Clearing bubbles keeps the ceiling away from the line.

Can I play Bubble Shooter on my phone?

Yes. Drag your finger to aim and tap to fire. The game works in portrait and landscape on mobile browsers.

How do I get a high score?

Set up large chain reactions by aiming at the underside of the cluster and using wall bounces. Big pops and hanging-bubble drops score far more than single matches.
