Introduction

Idle Clicker is the incremental game in its cleanest form: one button, one counter, and a loop that quietly turns a few clicks into a growing empire of numbers. Click to earn, buy upgrades that multiply your income, and when the pace slows, reset your progress for a prestige bonus that makes the next run faster. It is the perfect background game — a tab you check every few minutes and watch grow. Play it free in your browser with your progress saved locally and no download.

About Idle Clicker

Idle games, also called incremental or clicker games, grew from a simple experiment: what if a game rewarded you for not playing? The answer is surprisingly compelling. You click to earn, buy an upgrade that earns for you, then buy upgrades that multiply the upgrades — and before long the game is a numbers puzzle you genuinely enjoy optimising.

Idle Clicker follows the classic arc. Early on, your own clicks are your main income. Then upgrades and multipliers take over, and the counter starts climbing on its own. Finally, the prestige system lets you reset your progress for a permanent bonus, which turns the whole game into a long-term planning puzzle about when to reset.

This version is based on an open-source clicker game by InfinityLoop1, released under the MIT licence. It runs entirely in your browser, saves your progress in local storage so you can return to your growing numbers later, and has no purchases of any kind. No download, no sign-up and no pay-to-win.

How to Play Idle Clicker

  1. Click to earn.

Click the main button to earn currency on every click. The counter rises with each click, and the balance funds every purchase in the game.

  2. Buy upgrades.

Spend your earnings on upgrades that increase your income per click, per second, or both. Each upgrade costs more than the last, so choosing which to buy first is the core decision.

  3. Let the numbers grow.

As upgrades stack, your income climbs faster than your clicking alone ever could. The counter keeps rising even between your visits to the game.

  4. Reset for prestige.

When progress slows, you can reset your run for a permanent prestige bonus that multiplies future income. Deciding when to reset is the endgame strategy.

  5. Keep optimising.

The game has no ending — the numbers keep climbing and the upgrades keep coming. Your goal is your own: beat your last run, reach the next milestone, or just watch the counter grow.

Idle Clicker Tips & Strategies

  • Buy the cheapest upgrade first

Early on, the best upgrade is usually the one you can afford soonest, because income compounds. Compare cost against effect — a ten-percent upgrade is not worth ten times the price of a five-percent one.

  • Watch the per-second rate, not the balance

The number that matters is how much you earn per second. If a purchase barely moves that rate, it is a slow purchase even if it looks impressive.

  • Reset at the right moment

The prestige bonus grows with your progress, so reset too early and the bonus is tiny. A common rule is to wait until the next prestige is close before resetting — the game usually shows when a reset becomes worthwhile.

  • Come back on a schedule

Idle games reward regular check-ins. Visit every few minutes early on, and less often once upgrades are running, to spend accumulated earnings on the next upgrade.

  • Save often by letting it save

Your progress is saved automatically in your browser. Resist the urge to clear browsing data, because that wipes your save.

  • Do not let a big number distract you

A large balance looks great but means nothing if it is not earning. Keep buying the upgrade that increases your income the most, not the one with the biggest price tag.

Upgrades continue to generate income while the page is open, and your save is stored in the browser. When you return, your progress is exactly where you left it.
