About Idle Venture
Idle games, also called incremental or clicker games, grew out of a simple design experiment in the early 2010s: what if a game rewarded you for not playing? Idle Venture follows the classic formula. Early game, your own clicks are your main income. Mid game, upgrades multiply what each click earns. Late game, managers and automated systems earn for you continuously, and the game becomes a planning puzzle about which upgrade gives the best return on your next purchase.
This version is based on the open-source game by bitcraft3r, released under the MIT licence, and renamed here to avoid confusion with a commercial title of a similar name. It runs entirely in your browser, saves your progress in local storage so you can return to your growing empire later, and has no purchases of any kind — every upgrade is earned by playing.
How to Play Idle Venture
Click to earn.
Click the main button to earn currency on every click. Each click adds to your balance, and the balance funds every purchase in the game.
Buy upgrades.
Spend your earnings on upgrades that increase what you earn per click, per second, or both. Each upgrade costs more than the last, and choosing which to buy first is the core decision.
Hire managers to automate.
Managers take over the clicking for you, generating income automatically even while you are not interacting. This is the moment the game shifts from active to idle.
Let it grow while you are away.
Because managers earn continuously, your balance keeps climbing while you close the tab or do something else. Coming back to a bigger number than you left is the genre's signature reward.
Keep optimising.

Buy the cheapest meaningful upgrade first
Early on, the best upgrade is usually the one you can afford soonest, because income compounds. As the game grows, compare cost against effect — a ten-percent upgrade is not worth ten times the price of a five-percent one.
Hire the first manager as soon as you can
The first manager unlocks passive income, which changes the whole game. Prioritise automation over slightly better click multipliers in the early game.
Check your per-second rate, not your balance
The number that matters is how much you earn per second. If a purchase barely moves that rate, it is a slow purchase even if it looks impressive.
Save often by letting it save
Your progress is saved automatically to your browser. Resist the reset button — every reset wipes your whole empire, and the game does not use prestige resets.
Come back on a schedule
Idle games reward returning regularly. Check in every few minutes early on, and every few hours once managers are running, to spend the accumulated earnings on the next upgrade.
